reStart (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a gift registry platform designed to support people rebuilding their lives after divorce. We are operated by The Restart Co. These terms govern your use of our website at the-restart.co (the “Site”).
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
3. Your Account
You must create an account to use certain features, including creating and managing registries. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period.
4. Registries
reStart allows you to create gift registries and share them with friends and family. By creating a registry, you agree that:
- Registry information you make public (including your name and registry title) may be visible to anyone with a link.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of items you add to your registry.
- We may remove registry content that violates these Terms or that we determine is inappropriate.
You can set your registry to private at any time from your account settings.
5. Purchases and Third-Party Retailers
reStart is a registry platform — we do not sell products or process payments. Items on your registry link to third-party retailers (such as Amazon, Etsy, or others). All purchases are made directly through those retailers and are subject to their terms, return policies, and privacy practices. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site.
6. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Site (profile information, registry details, comments). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and use that content in connection with operating the Site.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, obscene, or that infringes any third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these standards.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Illinois.
